Four reform commissions’ reports handed over to CA

Dhaka, Jan 15: The four reform commissions’ reports, with specific recommendations for state reforms, were submitted to Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today.

The members of the four reform commissions handed over the reports to Prof Yunus at his office in Tejgaon here.

The Constitution Reform Commission, the Election Reform Commission, the Anti-Corruption Reform Commission and the Police Reform Commission submitted their reports.

Addressing the report handover ceremony, Professor Yunus highly appreciated the efforts of the reform commission members, saying, ‘This is not only ceremonial but also a historical moment.’

He further emphasised that the interim government, armed with the reform proposals, would initiate discussions with political parties to reach a consensus for rebuilding the country from its ashes.

‘Elections will be held following a consensus among all parties. The reform proposals are the foundation for discussions to achieve this consensus,’ he added.

During the report handover ceremony, interim government advisers, constitution reform commission cheif Professor Ali Riaz, electoral reform commission chief Badiul Alam Majumder, police reform commission chief Safar Raj Hossain, ACC reform commission chief Iftekharuzzaman, public administration reform commission chief Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury, members of judiciary and other reform commissions were present.
